Find the happiness. It’s definitely there!

Where to begin? At the start, of course! The start is a very blurry non place but I’ll have a go. I’m now 41 and I am faced with unfamiliar choices. I’m diving head first into murky waters of having to re-invent myself. Oh how very mid-life crisis does that sound! It’s uncomfortably true however. 20 years have poofed into twinkly smoke. 20 years where I was just wife and Mum. It was busy and important but not about little old me or my happiness or future. The smack in the face reality is that I never really considered that I had a future. Quite the reverse in fact. My life, ever aging me has sacrificed my own life for that of my family. Well, how wrong can one woman be? Ha! My role has started to change and I am beginning to find my future. The one I didn’t know I had. I am so blooming excited about this I feel like I should be wearing a bra with tassels on and shaking what my mother gave me!!!

My Lords, Ladies and Gentleman, I begin the Edith Bloom venture peeps. There will be good bits and less good bits but I’m taking you all with me! I apologise in advance for the boring bits but we all have to find the happiness. Enjoy the good bits and get though the bad.

I’m not in any way a computery sort of person so I’m going to push on and just get on with it. I confess there will be the odd whinge about it but I will both keep going to get to the good bits and keep a lid on the grumbles…..in equal measure.

So Edith Bloom. A brand. Yes, a brand. A home and lifestyle brand. I have every single intention of creating an Etsy shop, a website (rest assured, I fully intend to pay someone clever to do the magic for me to get Edith Bloom onto the world wide web) and I will write a book. I will sit at a computer (it’s painful even to type those words) and write a book with Edith Bloom ‘things’ in. A Christmas chapter is a big fat must, just so you know. I will self publish and self market my book.

So, I have made a start. I haven’t slept a wink despite a cup of cocoa and giving myself a good talking to. But historically, I have made my vest decisions under similar nocturnal circumstances so I have designed and ordered labels for my shop products. I have thought about products to sell. Each and every one is a hone made item. It’s the Edith Bloom trademark didn’t you know. Plus I have the plan to write the book. I have considered wedding fairs for personalised (scented) handkerchiefs and pretty favours etc. a gazillion ideas. But we are starting with the shop and the book. The book will take a year. The shop hopefully less so but time will tell.

My to do list includes, check measurements and order jam jars, get cracking on a website (find a keyboard hero is what I mean) and get stocking up your shop shelves Edith.

Thanks for joining me. Let’s see where this takes us.

Stay strong & be kind peeps, it’s a tough world for all of us.

Edith xxx
